Microbiology Research

Microbiology Research laboratory established by Dr. Prabhakar Kore Basic Science Research Center (BSRC) is intensively working in various microbiological systems like identification, characterization of bacteria, fungi and actinomytes from various sources. The lab is equipped with various instruments such as bacteriological incubators (Labotech), microscope, laminar air flow system (Quest international, India), autoclave, deep freeze storage facility (New brunswick), lyophilizer (Christ, Germany), ELISA plate reader (Lisa plus) and anaerobic workstation (KIM microsystems). The microbiology lab undertakes research in the identification, enumeration and characterization of bacteria and fungi from clinical and non-clinical sources.

The evaluation of antimicrobial efficacy of various synthetic compounds and extracts against aerobic and anaerobic strains by standardized assay methods like Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC), Minimum Bacterial Concentration (MBC), time kill assay, antibiotic susceptibility tests, anti-biofilm assay and anti- adhesion assay.

We are willing to work in very competitive environments and ready to share, collaborate to work in the field of Microbiology.
