The Analytical Laboratory is focused on formulation of conventional and novel drug delivery systems and its biopharmaceutical assessment like pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics studies. The Laboratory undertakes projects like formulation of nanoparticulate drug delivery systems like metallic nanoparticles (gold, silver, iron oxide), solid lipid nanoparticles, ethosomes, liposomes, PLGA nanoparticles, etc. and novel drug delivery systems like thermoreversible gels, transdermal drug delivery systems, nasal drug delivery, ocular drug delivery, local drug delivery, topical drug delivery etc. for cancer therapeutics, oral diseases, anti-inflammatory conditions etc. Additionally, it also works on formulation of biomaterials for bone and tissue engineering. The lab is well equipped with High-performance liquid chromatography (Shimadzu, Japan), Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography (Shimadzu, Japan), High shear homogenizer (IKA, Germany), multi-station Franz diffusion cell system (Thermo fisher Scientific), probe sonicator, UV-visible spectroscopy (Shimadzu, Japan), lyophilizer (Christ, Germany), automatic dissolution apparatus (Electrolab) and Brookfield viscometer. The facilities and expertise of the staff are utilized by students and faculty of KAHER institutions as well as non-KAHER Institutions. The laboratory also conducts training programs in advanced analytical techniques. .
